Mrs. Olivera Đuragić, research assistant at the Institute for Food Technology, Research Center for Feed and Animal Products, Novi Sad, visited IFF institute, Braunschweig from August 16th to September 11th. Here is short review of her impressions:
As a part of the FP7 project “FEED-TO-FOOD” which includes the exchange of research experience, it was my first longer visit to IFF. In the period of the visit, I was introduced with the works and almost all activities of the institute, including laboratory work and some pilot plant work which are carried out under current projects.
I got an opportunity to present my research work as well as the work of my institute, particularly the department of Feed and Animal Products. We discussed about possibilities for further cooperation and possible publication of research work results in international scientific journals for getting references for future European projects. Main topics were methods used in determination of homogeneity and working accuracy, as well as investigations in the area of feed pellet processing and liquid addition. We talked about contribution in the current FP7 proposal in area of feed safety and quality and made useful comments and suggestions. I also visited the Friedrich Loeffler Institute (FLI), their facilities and got introduced with their field of research, and AGRAVIS, local feed producer, which is a part of the Raiffeisen Company. The purpose of one-day visit to Hanover Messe on September 8th was meeting with Dr. Steinkamp from the Deutsches Institut für Lebensmitteltechnik (DIL). After discussion, we established a good base for future cooperation.
Finally, I can say that my visit was successful and fruitful and that our two institutes can do more in future in the field of feed technology, not only as a part of the project “FEED-TO-FOOD” but in the other projects.
